By Way of Introduction
Many
people hesitate to visit a church unless they know what it will be like when
they go. Perhaps we can help you know what to expect when you visit the church
of Christ.
Our Worship is Simple and
Devout
Our
services are conducted in a quiet, worshipful atmosphere. They are designed to
draw the worshipers closer to God and to provide enduring Spiritual Strength.
Our worship consists only of those elements which the New Testament reveals as
having been used as worship by the church in the days of the apostles. We sing
and pray, partake of the Lord's supper, have the Word of God preached for our
instruction, and give of our means for the spreading of the Gospel, and caring
for the poor. In all of this we seek to maintain the attitude which Christ
taught when He said: "God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must
worship in Spirit and Truth." (John 4:24)
Our Authority Is The
Bible Alone
Our
source of authority is that which is found only in the inspired Scripture.
Therefore, we seek to be governed in all that we do by God's Holy Bible. Since
the Scriptures are sufficient for our every need (II Timothy 3:16-17), our
preaching and teaching contains only that which is commanded in the Bible.
Our People Are Christians
Only
The
division in the religious world today is far different from the unity enjoyed
by the early Christians, before traditionalism and distinctive names divided
them. Believing such division to be contrary to the Scriptures, we have no
Denominational organization or name, doctrine or creed. Following the
teachings of Christ and His apostles, individually we are known as Christians,
collectively as a church of Christ.
You Will Never Be
Embarrassed
You
visit us as a welcome and respected guest. At the end of the sermon those
wishing to become Christians are invited to step to the front of the
auditorium to let their wishes be known. But never is anyone singled out for
public attention. People are urged from the pulpit to accept the gospel and to
yield its call with deep spiritual conviction.
You Will Find A Friendly
Spirit
We
believe that friendliness is a natural attitude among people who truly love
God. Our visitors, who always receive a warm welcome, appreciate the courtesy
and cordiality of these Christians. We truly hope you will accept our
invitation to meet with us soon. You will be benefited by coming. You will
find a list of our services inside.
What is The Church of
Christ ?
One
question that comes to mind when visiting the Church of Christ is "What
is the Church of Christ and who are these people that want to be just
Christians?" For this and other related topics visit

is the Church of Christ.

Reflections

The Powerful Gospel
Religious people like to talk about The Gospel. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are called Gospels. We use the term Gospel message, we listen to Gospel music and we support Gospel preacher's to take the message of the Gospel throughout the world. The Gospel is one of those terms that is used a lot and often little thought goes into it's use. The scriptures give us a lot of insight into The Gospel. Lets look at what we learn about the Gospel from scripture.
The Gospel was the Good news all about the coming of Jesus bringing the Holy Spirit and judgment. - Luke 3:15-18
The Gospel was about the Kingdom of God and required people to believe the message. - Mark 1:14-15
The Gospel according to Isaiah would be preached to the poor to release captives, return sight to the blind, set free the oppressed, and to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord. - Luke 4:17-18
The Gospel was to be preached not in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. - I Thessalonians 1:5
The Gospel should be preached with eagerness and the power of God and we should never be ashamed of the message. - Romans 1:15-16
The Gospel message should never be changed or distorted. - Galatians 1:6-9
The Gospel tells us about salvation and Hope of heaven. - Ephesians 1:13; Colossians 1:3-6, 21-23
The Gospel teaches us that we should turn from vain things to a living God. - Acts 14:15
The Gospel calls us so that we may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. - 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14
The Gospel, if not obeyed, can lead to eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power when He comes. - II Thessalonians 1:6-10
Surely all that we read in scripture about the Gospel should encourage us to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation". Then "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved" (Mark 16:15-16), Now...that's Good News!
